About Me

Hi! I’m Julia, and I pour out my heart and mind on this site! A bit about me: I’ve been a creative and deep thinker all my life. I love to create—whether it be through design thinking and innovation; graphic design and photography; or art making and messy experimentation. Alongside getting creative, I can often be found in deep thought, puzzling about the world’s problems, what it all means, and how to think from a biblical perspective.

I’m passionate about pursuing the Good, the True, and the Beautiful, and continuously working on thinking well—taking every thought captive and being rooted in faithful orthodoxy and sound theology. I know I have a lot to learn, and I’m constantly striving to understand more.

I believe that thinking well means being willing to question our comfort zones and be changed as we think in community. Thinking well also means being willing to change our mind and grow our views as Christ transforms us for His kingdom.

Having grown up cross-culturally, I firmly believe people of all nations are part of God’s Kingdom, and that we need to take a global perspective in our thoughts and actions, as the entire world is God’s world, not just the country we happen to be living in.

I hold a BS in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design (Biola University), an MA in Christian Studies (Trinity Evangelical Divinity School), and an MFA in Collaborative Design (John Brown University). I’m a graduate of the Torrey Honors Institute great books program at Biola University.

When I’m not getting serious thinking about politics and culture, my husband Nathan and I create with LEGOs, photography, and various art media and we love board games.
